Yeharerwerk Gashaw and Benjamin A. Onyango will be the Presenters of The DEAR Awards on Sept. 2, 2017

Yeharerwerk Gashaw

Yeharerwerk Gashaw is the first Ethiopian International model ever advertised outside Africa and the first black ac-tress to appear on the Internationally popular CBS television show “Dallas” as glamorous woman. Known for her work as a Pan African activist she has dedicated her life to the fight to bring unity to Africans in Africa and all over the world. Her quest to unite and fight for Africans started at the age of 12 when she became an advocate for South Africa and African countries that had not yet received independence. Her jour-ney soon led her to meet African leaders such as Presidents Nelson Mandela and Mobutu in 1990.

Benjamin A. Onyango is the 2nd born child of 7 boys . He grew up in Jericho Estate in Nairobi, Kenya and never thought that his life as a naughty, troublesome, ghetto lad, would one day make it to the United States of America and end up an Entrepreneur, Actor, Direc-tor and Producer. To date he has produced and starred in three TV shows The Wives shot in Kenya in April 2017, Two Worlds (not yet released) and Dys-functionally Organized (Web series). His movie cred-its include: Beautifully Broken (2018), God’s Not Dead 1 & 2 and rumored to be shooting God’s Not Dead 3 in September 2017. Other screen credits in-clude Tears of the Sun (2003) and Father Africa (not yet released)

These two African celebrities will be sharing the same stage at the Sheraton Hotel at 4440 W John Carpenter FWY Irving, Texas 75063 on Saturday September 2, 2017 at the 3rd annual DEAR Awards. The DEAR Awards is the brainchild of Kenyan events organizer Dr. Pam Mogaka of Michigan. The event will be hosted by African Hollywood star Benjamin A. Onyango and co-hosted by Zari Hussein, wife of 7-time Music award winner, Diamond Platnumz.

According to Dr. Mogaka the CEO and founder of the DEAR Awards, the show was enacted to recognize individuals in the entertainment and business indus-tries for their selfless sacrifices and continued suc-cesses. The DEAR Awards Show rewards their efforts in impacting their communities in positive ways.
